As a depth-oriented, relational psychotherapist based in San Francisco, California, I work with sensitive, creative, and gifted individuals from a psychodynamic, somatic, and integrative perspective.
Before I held space for others, I had to learn how to hold myself. I became the person I needed. Now I offer that presence to others.
Before I was a therapist, I was an artist —a Chelsea gallerina with a camera in my hand.
I shot with a Hasselblad and a 4×5. My world was framed in film and light. I earned an MFA in photography, worked in Chelsea galleries, at the International Center of Photography, and assisted artists whose names appeared in Artforum and museum catalogs.
On the outside, I was an emerging artist in NYC with a curated life.
Inside, a precipitous fall— numbed, dissociated, flickering in and out of awareness. I had no idea where the edge was.
Addiction distorted my sense of time, self, and place. I was disappearing.
There were relapses and recoveries. A blackout that left me in a hospital. A gallery I opened and lost. The rain I didn’t notice the night the hurricane hit.
Eventually, there was no more bargaining. Only a choice.
I had one chance. Choose rehab or risk losing everything — including my family.
There was an ultimatum — and also, an offer. I gave up weed on the promise that I would get my dreams back.
That’s how I got to Marin.
I chose Alta Mira, a residential treatment center where I spent 35 days — unraveling, reckoning, remembering. I consider it an alma mater.
While I was in treatment, my family cleared out my Brooklyn apartment. I didn’t return for five years.
Instead, I stayed — and changed everything.
Early sobriety is like early development — relearning how to exist. I felt like a freshly peeled nectarine: raw, tender, exposed. I was rebuilding not just a life, but a nervous system. One breath at a time.
I was referred to a Columbia-trained psychoanalyst named Dr. John Deri — a former New Yorker practicing in Mill Valley.
One day in session, Dr. Deri looked at me and said:
“You have seer’s eyes. This is your work.”
That sentence changed everything.
I went back to school and began studying the psyche with the sense that everything depended on it.
I think of him often — the soul recognition, the way he saw me.
The seer who called me to my path.
Today, I’m a licensed psychotherapist specializing in depth work for empaths, artists, survivors, and seekers navigating trauma, addiction, anxiety, sexuality, spiritual crisis, and deep emotional overwhelm.
I offer therapy for those rebuilding after collapse. Not from theory — from memory.
Vulnerability isn’t a liability in my work. It’s my credential. My clients come to me not because I escaped the storm — but because I survived it.
I work with empaths, artists, survivors, and seekers navigating:
I walk beside those who feel too much, who’ve lost their way, those who long to come home to themselves.
My approach is psychodynamic, somatic, and trauma-informed.
I also bring something less clinical, but just as essential:
I offer presence.
A nervous system that returns to balance.
A heart tempered by fire.
A body that knows how to stay.
This work is not about fixing.
It’s about remembering who you are beneath the pain.
Whether you’re recovering from trauma, navigating a crisis in your relationship, or quietly unraveling in a world that doesn’t hold you — there is room here for all of it.
You are not broken. You are becoming.
If you’re navigating collapse, rebuilding your life, or seeking a depth-oriented therapist who listens for the unspoken — Reach out.
My academic background reflects the integrative and creative approach I bring to therapy.
Each of these educational milestones has informed my ability to approach psychotherapy with both analytical depth and creative insight so I can explore the complexities of your inner world with both precision and intuition.
I am a lifelong learner and have benefited from intensive workshops with thought leaders in the fields of trauma and relationships including Bessel van der Kolk and Esther Perel. I have also obtained certifications in Jungian-Oriented Psychotherapy at the C.G. Jung Institute and Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy through the Hakomi Institute. These experiences have enabled me to cultivate a therapeutic space grounded in contemporary research, expertise and best practices for psychotherapy so you can feel safe to freely explore your inner world.
I am a Marin County psychotherapist with over a decade of clinical experience supporting individuals, couples and families in private practice and at leading treatment centers in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Alta Mira Recovery Programs, New Perspectives Center for Counseling, Haight Ashbury Psychological Services, Ohlhoff Recovery Programs, and others focused on trauma, addiction recovery, and mental health treatment. Working extensively with substance use disorders and addiction recovery early in my career, I developed an understanding of the interplay between trauma and self-destructive patterns of compulsive behavior. These experiences shaped my understanding of the complexity of recovery and transformation, allowing me to support clients in finding freedom and deeper connection in their lives.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy, an insight oriented approach that supports greater self-awareness and understanding of unconscious patterns, is at the heart of my work. A safe and reflective space for understanding your inner world, this approach explores the connections between your present experiences and past dynamics, offering clarity into recurring patterns. Integrating past experiences with present awareness, facilitates long-term change and greater emotional freedom. This approach is particularly powerful for those seeking to create fulfilling relationships and meaningful personal growth.
I frequently integrate elements of mindful somatic psychotherapy into my practice, focusing on the connection between your mind and body as a resource for healing trauma and self-regulation. By tuning into sensations, movements, and emotions that arise in the body, we can access direct pathways to healing. This approach is especially supportive for addressing trauma, as it helps you reconnect with your physical body in a safe and empowering way. Offering tools for stress management and self-regulation, somatic therapy helps you feel grounded, balanced and whole in your everyday life.
For long term clients interested in exploring expanded states of consciousness, I offer a safe, structured framework for legal psychedelic assisted psychotherapy in collaboration with a prescribing physician. Providing ethical, trauma-informed care requires nuance and caution. I approach the work with a deep respect for the potential of consciousness expanding medicine to catalyze lasting transformation in a healing environment. Whether you’re addressing symptoms of trauma, depression, or addiction, I will provide the emotional scaffolding you need to process your experience, integrate insights, and embody new ways of being in your life.
My therapy practice offers a safe and welcoming space for individuals from all walks of life. Whether you are navigating trauma, repairing your relationships, seeking empathic support, or exploring the depths of your inner world, you are welcome here with me.
